The New Holland honeyeater is unique to Southern Australia. It has stunning black and white plummage with streaks of yellow that make them difficult to miss. They are incredibly territorial, and are well known for their ‘mobbing’ technique which they use to scare away larger threats. They are one of Australia’s most energetic birds - fuelled up on high-energy nectar - they can often be spotted chasing each other around backyards.
